Project Details:

Claire won a European Silver Medal at the 2012 European Association of Hotel & Tourism Schools Annual Conference and competitions which was held in Macedonia from 8th to 13th October 2012.
Claire concentrated on her specialist area of Pastry. Along with competing on a solo basis, she was also teamed up with a competitor from another European country with communication using the French language as a medium.

Claire was prepared for the event and accompanied for the competition by her supervisor Ann O'Connor. Claire is a current student in the Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Arts. Ms. O'Connor herself was a judge at the event under seperate disciplines.

Over 600 competitors travelled to Macedonia for the event, representing 40 European countries over the 3 days of intense competition.

The AEHT is an international non-governmental organisation, whose prime objective is to promote a European outlook among Hotel and Tourism Schools. Founded in 1988, it has grown in membership to 430, with an AEHT national representative in 44 European countries.
