Ann Toebes, PhD
Ann graduated with an honours degree in Industrial Chemistry from UL in 1990. In 1994 she graduated with a PhD in Physical Organic Chemistry from UL on the epoxidation of cyclohexene by dioxiranes over ketone catalysts.
In 1994 she started work in Zeneca, Grangemouth, Scotland, as a process chemist. In 1996 she moved to Inspec, Southampton. While there she worked as a Team Leader in the area of process development and new product introductions. In 1999, she returned to Ireland to work with GlaxoSmithKline, Currabinny, Cork, as a process owner for one of the APIs manufactured on site.
Ann has been with CIT since 2001. She is currently coordinator of the BSc in GMP & Technology and 2nd year of the Higher Certificate in Science in GMP and Technology. She organises placements for the 2nd year students. She lectures the following modules: GMP 1 and Quality Assurance, GMP2 and Quality Control, Calibration Science, Manufacturing Technology, Validation Science, Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry 1. Finally, Ann is a member of ISPE.
