Report issued on developing the green economy in Ireland
Published on: Wednesday, 02 December 2009
The green economy can make a significant contribution to Ireland’s economy by creating employment and export opportunities in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and consultancy, waste management, recovery and recycling, and water and wastewater treatment - all of which can be undertaken by chemical engineers.
The Group on Green Enterprise was mandated to identify areas where Ireland could succeed in the green economy and was charged with identifying key road blockages for the green economy and ways to overcome these. The Department of Enterprise, Trade & Innovation has published a report on this topic here.
