Hovione, a contract API manufacturer in Ringaskiddy in Cork, facilitated a tour for the class undertaken the Diploma in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Operations on Friday 5th November, which was supervised by Dr Caroline O’ Sullivan. A former student, Michael Kelleher (BSc GMP) gave the Health and Safety induction of the Hovione site. We also met with Louise Dennehy, the HR officer who co-ordinated the tour and answered questions relating to the recruitment process in Hovione. Dr Paul Downing, the General Manger in Hovione gave an overview of the company highlighting their manufacturing capabilities and operations. This was then followed by a tour of the production facilities by Robby Dupuy.
