PM Group supports CIT Chemical Engineering Design Project

PM Group supports CIT Chemical Engineering Design Project

Published on: Friday, 15 April 2016

PM Group have been providing mentoring support to this year’s CIT Design Project teams.  Led by Peter O’Sullivan, PM’s Process Group Manager, three mentors: Taidgh Horgan, Sheila O’Keeffe and Eoin White have been assigned to each of the CIT Design teams.  The goals of this interaction are to enhance the industrial relevance of the design project and to encourage the adoption of regular project engineering documentation and practice in the operation of the Project.  Now in its second year, lessons have been learned each year and used to contribute to the continuous improvement of the students’ education.

Communication is operated remotely via Teamwork software to ensure transparency and equity of information flow, to host file storage and, for the CIT student, to provide time accounting and a formal project workspace.  In addition to the remote contact, there are three “formal” plenary meetings in addition to any team-mentor conversations.  Below is an image from the last meeting, when the current third years joined with the final years on their visit.
