GMP and Springboard Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Operation Students accompanied by Dr Ann Toebes, visited Janssen Pharma, Little Island on Friday 10th November 2017.  Lab Coats, safety glasses and static shoe conductors were provided following safety orientation.  Mr Brian Hayes brought the group on an external tour showing the manufacturing capabilities, facilities layout, solvent storage and environmental management features of the site. The tour continued to one of the production buildings where the group was split in two, Martin Kelleher joining one of the groups.   Each group followed the manufacturing process flow in the building, commencing with head tanks and following to reactors, distillation vessels, crystallisers and finally centrifugal dryers.  Finally, questions were fielded by Brian before the end of the site visit.

The students were given excellent insight to this modern facility, many thanks to Brian and Martin (two alumni of CIT) for their time and effort.
