Certificate in Automotive Technology or equivalent.
The course will include coverage of engine construction, timing diagrams diesel and petrol systems, transmission systems, gearboxes, drive layouts, steering, suspension and brake systems. It will also cover electrical circuit principles, sensors, actuators displays, fault-finding ignition/injection systems, lighting and cooling systems, ABS Braking and SRS Systems. This is a classroom-based course.

Course fees must be paid before attending lectures.
An Information/Registration session will take place on Wednesday 6th September from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at the CIT Bishopstown Campus. Institute staff will be in attendance to offer career guidance and assistance.
Course Fee: €650 (inc. exam fee)
Course delivery: One night per week for two semesters
The course will consist of two modules
covering more advanced aspects of automotive electrical components and systems.
Special Purpose Award (10 ECTS credits at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
