CCAD winners of the Camac Challenge Awards 2015

Published on: Monday, 14 September 2015

Once again CIT Crawford College of Art & Design (CCAD) Textiles students performed very well at the UK-based CAMAC Student Textile Design Awards 2015. Students were given at random a swatch image from an archival fabric of the Warner Textile Archive near London, and challenged to make a contemporary response in any chosen material/process.

CCAD students competed with textile design students from: Bath Spa University; the University of East London; RMIT Melbourne, Australia, and NID India among others.

Sarah Treffkorn is one of 7 top prize winners chosen from over 80 entries by a jury team (including Mary Schoeser, who was one of the MAKE 2015 keynote speakers). Sarah is now entering Year 2 of the CCAD full-time BA (Honours) in Contemporary Applied Art this year.

Highly Commended (14 in total were chosen in this category) from CCAD are Ann Collins. Ann Kearns, and Mary O'Brien who are currently studying CCAD's Certificate in Fine Art Textiles (Special Purpose Award).
