Further Success for CIT Researchers - €2.4 million SeaRefinery Project

Dr Helen O’Shea, Senior Lecturer Department in the Department of Biological Sciences, and Dr Hugh McGlynn, Head of School of Science and Informatics, are part of a  €2.4 million  project titled: “SeaRefinery - The Seaweed Biorefinery for high value added products”, with partners from Denmark, Belgium, Norway and Iceland.

This Marine Biotechnology ERA-NET (ERA-MarineBiotech) funded Project is a an Industry-Academia venture that recognises that Europe’s marine ecosystems and organisms as largely unexplored, understudied and under-utilised.

CIT’s involvement will be to investigate the potential health benefits of marine derived products.
