Dr Alex Krok, CIT Research Fellow, successfully made the 2018 Class by receiving the Charlemont grant from the Royal Irish Academy. Alex is currently researching Powder Modelling for Pharmaceutical Tabletting in conjunction with Dr Sandra Lenihan and Dr Keith Byran.

Prof. Kennedy, President of the Royal Irish Academy noted the importance of the awards as they are designed to act as a career springboard by assisting scholars in strengthening their international mobility and developing international collaborative networks. This unique funding enables short international research trips. Alex Krok will be fostering collaboration with researchers in the UK and USA to progress his current research. The University of Surrey - UK and University of Dexrel -USA host Research Centres in the areas of powder processing and modelling, respectively. This is a fantastic opportunity for CIT to undertake international collaboration in this research area.
