CIT Student Wins National Cocktail Title

Finbarr Collins, a 4th Year Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management student at the CIT Department of Tourism & Hospitality returned victorious today having won the National Student Hospitality Cocktail Competition at Catex in the RDS in Dublin.  The competition was sponsored by Edward Dillon & Co and it brought together the best mixology students from colleges throughout Ireland.
 

Finbarr’s win follows his recent gold medal win in his competition class at the annual AEHT Competitions in Serbia where 425 competitors, representing 85 European Tourism and Hospitality colleges from 40 member countries in 10 competition classes competed for European titles.

Adrian Gregan, Head of Department, commented “Finbarr has brought even more prestige to the Institute today and we are very proud of his achievements and congratulate him, along with his lecturer/mentor Ms. Gail Cotter who prepared him for the events.”

The Department of Tourism and Hospitality at CIT encompasses the areas of Culinary Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Bar Management. It has over 700 students and a team of dedicated student-centred industry experienced Lecturers across these disciplines and is located in a modern purpose-built building on CIT’s Bishopstown Campus.
