Erasmus Mobility Funding and Registration Fees

The Erasmus programme provides mobility funding towards the additional costs of studying abroad, such as travel expenses, language preparation costs, higher general costs of living in the host country.  Erasmus funding is not a full scholarship, so you will need to have additional funds available to do an Erasmus exchange or traineeship.

The Erasmus grants are calculated according to cost of living in the host country.  Please see table below:

Registration at CIT

To participate in Erasmus +, you must be a registered student at MTU, whether you will be spending the whole academic year or just a few months abroad.  Therefore, all students going on Erasmus must register at MTU, and pay the registration fee for the academic year in which they will be doing the Erasmus exchange or traineeship.  (Those students who normally receive an education grant, or a fee waiver to study at MTU, can keep these entitlements whilst on Erasmus.)

The receiving institution is not allowed to charge incoming Erasmus students any fees for tuition, registration, examinations, access to laboratory and library facilities.   However, small fees may be charged for, students' union membership, the use of photocopiers, laboratory products, etc., on an equal basis with local students.
