Internationalisation: The Supporting Role of Clusters

On Thursday, 22nd October 22nd, CyberForum e.V. (coordinator of UPSIDE and partner of the Be Wiser EU projects) is hosting a networking session titled: “Internationalisation: The Supporting Role of Clusters”

(Room 10, 22/10/2015 (14:00 - 14:45))

Innovation is not created by isolated organization but mostly in dynamic environments where competent organisations interact in a constructive and complementary way to assimilate existing knowledge and generate new ideas and products. Therefore clusters have a role to play in the development of pan-European collaborative linkages which can help Europe to compete economically with the rest of the world.

The role of clusters in internationalization will be discussed in our dedicated networking session, which brings together experts from across Europe from all elements of the Triple Helix (‘academia,’ ‘Government’ and ‘industry’) to share their thoughts, goals and dreams for the development of pan-European collaborative linkages.Innovation is not created by isolated organisation but mostly in dynamic environments where competent organisations interact in a constructive and complementary way to assimilate existing knowledge and generate new ideas and products. Therefore clusters have a role to play in the development of pan-European collaborative linkages which can help Europe to compete economically with the rest of the world.

After a short introduction, three flash talks will share best practice cases developed within the projects:
►Stockholm – Montreal twinning – Smart Digital Cities, Lindström A, Kista Science City (http://kista.com/)
►BeWiser Connect – an online matchmaking tool, Hobbs J., Cork Institute of Technology (http://bewiserconnect.cit.ie/)
►Business Roaming Agreement – an internationalization tool, Zuccotti A., CyberForum e.V. (http://clusterize.org/)

The session will be open for discussion, with questions, comments and examples from the audience.

Join us at the ICT conference in Lisbon and generate new contacts, which could also result in common topic-related projects, research activities, and further cooperation between clusters, regions, policy makers and academics across Europe!

Participation is free and subject to availability (40-seats only). Reserve your seat at: http://goo.gl/VNH07t
