Congratulations to Roy Downey and Mary White

Congratulations to CIT graduate Mary White (below right) who in the company of many former and current Cork Ladies Footballers, supporters and friends, last night launched her book "Relentless", the inside story of Cork Ladies Footballers. During her time in CIT Mary played basketball, ladies football and even tried her hand at rugby. Indeed Mary was a Sports Scholarship recipient for basketball. It was great to see so many of Mary’s former CIT classmates in support of her last night. We congratulate Mary on excellently capturing Cork’s historic story and wish her well with book sales. A great Christmas present for sure!
Moving from one basketball scholarship recipient to another! We congratulate Business Studies 2 student, Roy Downey who last night performed admirably as point guard, indeed chipping in with six points for Team Hibernia in their first home game in the FIBA Europe Cup. Team Hibernia is made up of the best players in the Irish Premier League. Roy is just 21 years and to be holding his own on this team is a great achievement. The Danish champions beat the home side 90-67 but there were just 10 points between the sides with 3:30 left to go.
