Dr Breda Kenny, board member of the European Council for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (ECSB) with responsibility for research collaboration and industry engagement, recently travelled to San Diego, California to represent ECSB at the International Council (ICSB) board.

ECSB is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to advance the understanding of entrepreneurship and to improve the competitiveness of SMEs and has close to 400 members from 36 countries. The board met at the USASBE 2016 conference hosted by the San Diego State University, where Dr Kenny presented an overview of the full range of activities and initiatives undertaken by the European affiliate. A second presentation was provided on the 3e Entrepreneurship Education Conference which began in Denmark in 2013 and will be hosted in CIT in May 2017.

Further meetings took place between ECSB and USASBE (The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) with a view to exploring collaborative opportunities between both organisations over the coming years.
