CIT Hosts Successful Sales Institute Breakfast Seminar

On 12th February 2016, CIT's School of Business hosted a breakfast seminar for the Sales Institute attended by over 80 sales and business professionals. The event focused on ‘How to build your online customer segments’.
The first speaker at this event was David Dowling, Online Operations Manager with Google. Over the past 10 years, he has spent his time working on various teams from sales & marketing to fraud & business development and across different products like Google AdWords, Payments & Shopping. David’s current remit with Google is growing the advertising base in the Netherlands, Belgium & the Nordics, one of the most digitally advanced regions in the world. David spoke about the importance of building online customer segments and his main advice to sales professionals present was to have a mobile enabled website to ensure online sales are not lost. David gave practical case studies of how online sales strategies had worked successfully.
The second speaker was Ciara Crossan of Weddingdates.ie, a Cork-based business established in 2008. Under the leadership of her infectious enthusiasm, industry knowledge and entrepreneurial drive, WeddingDates has won numerous awards and Ciara herself was shortlisted as “Outstanding Entrepreneur” in the UK Women 1st SHINE Awards in 2013. Ciara spoke with passion about her business and how she has have leveraged opportunities to drive her online sales strategy both in Ireland and the UK.
Ber Browne, Chairman Munster Region, the Sales Institute said: “The event was a great success and it was important to forge links with third level colleges pointing out that the current students are the future drivers of business and innovation”.
