The Roadmap for Employer – Academic Partnerships (REAP) project (led by CIT) is hosting a major conference next week to address the Scope, Management and Measurement of External Engagement in the context of the Irish Higher Education Sector.

The conference, which will be opened by Minister Sean Haughey, Minister for Lifelong Learning at the Department of Education and Skills, aims to identify a number of key insights and actions that will result in improved and more extensive engagement between Higher Education Institutions and the wider community. Participants will include leaders from across industry and Higher Education Institutions; and policy makers from the Departments of Education and Skills, the HEA, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, as well as other State bodies.

Keynote presentations will be delivered by Mike Devane of the American Chamber of Commerce, Professor Eamonn Murphy of the University of Limerick and Professor José-Ginés Mora, of the University of London and Valencia University of Technology.

Separate sessions will address the potential scope of engagement, how that is managed and supported within HE structures and how successes are measured and rewarded.

Each session will also have a panel of distinguished speakers and the invited attendance will be encouraged to debate the issues – for the full conference programme please click here .
