The exhibition will run from the 20th November - 10th December
Youghal Town Hall opening hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am - 4.30pm and admission is free

'This is an exhibition of models, drawings and photography produced by Architecture students which examine Youghal as it exists today and how it may develop in the future.'

The current cohort of 3rd year Architecture students were asked to curate, design and build an exhibition of its predecessors' work which examined Youghal and proposed new functions and architectural forms for the town as a means of rejuvenation for Youghal. The exhibition will be focused on Youghal as it exists nowadays and how it may be developed in the future. The students analysed the old town and waterfront as it is today through drawings, models and photography. They produced in groups masterplan interventions which could be made to the fabric of Youghal that would impact positively on the town giving it a new focus and stimulus. As part of this project the current social and cultural organisation of Youghal was studied to provide a basis for their interventions. There were also a number of specific individual projects where students were given a sites within Youghal town where they were requested to design a Community Centre, Cinema or Library. The exhibition will display some of these individual works.
