Crawford Centenary Exhibition

Crawford Centenary Exhibition opens in Crawford College of Art & Design at 3pm, Saturday, August 18 coinciding with Heritage Day. The month long exhibition is part of a series of Crawford 100 events celebrating the centenary of the Crawford building on Sharman Crawford Street.

The Crawford served as Crawford Regional Technical Institute before housing the CIT Crawford College of Art & Design - the building’s current occupant.

Crawford Centenary Exhibition features memorabilia and artifacts gathered over the last 100 years. The newly refurbishment foyer will be launched at the opening reception.

The 100 year old key which was presented to Lord Mayor Simcox in 1912 on the opening of the building will be one of the highlights of the show. The Inniscarra, a model boat which stood in the Crawford foyer during it’s time as the Regional Technical College, has returned to its original position for the duration of the exhibition. Members of the public have also kindly loaned memorabilia to enhance the exhibition.

Tours of the building will take place at 11am and 2am, Saturday, August 18 as part of Heritage Day.

Crawford Centenary Exhibition is open 10am – 5pm, Monday – Friday and runs until Culture Night, Friday, September 21.
