BA (Hons) Degree in Montessori Education offers 2 entry points – one for FETAC Level 6 and one for BA (Ord) Level 7 - Sept 2013

CIT, in partnership with Cork College of Commerce, is offering a progression degree BA (Honours) in Montessori Education – the first cohort enrolled in September 2012. CIT has designed and equipped a bespoke classroom with didactic Montessori materials, as well as contemporary ICT equipment, relating to teaching children aged 6 - 12years in accessible display cabinets with ample table and counter space for science, art, culture projects and more. The focus of the course is teacher training with supporting theoretical and practical experience.
In September 2013 students will have the opportunity to apply directly to Year/Stage 1 or Yr/Stage 2 of the BA (Hons) in Montessori Education.
- Applications for Year/Stage 1 of the BA (Honours) in Montessori Education are invited from students who have achieved a full FETAC Level 6 Award in Montessori (3-6 years) with a merit profile and a minimum of two distinctions (see Course Information).
- Students who have achieved a BA (Ord) Level 7 in Montessori are eligible to apply directly to Level 8 (Year/Stage 2), the application procedure is the same (see Course Information).
Though CIT is in partnership with Cork College of Commerce applications from equivalent courses are welcome. Applications are also welcome from mature students through the recognition of prior learning process. Recognition of prior learning can be gained formally from previously certified coursework, and informally or non-formally through workplace experience– these applications will be processed on a case by case basis.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 1st May 2013.
