Teagasc Prize for the Best Oral Presentation goes to PhD student Ruth Keary

The 42nd Annual Food Research Conference was hosted by the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown on 27th - 28th  June 2013. Over 80 attendants from Teagasc and the Universities/Institutes of Technology witnessed some excellent oral presentations and scientific posters from postgraduate students throughout Ireland. The Teagasc Prize for the Best Oral Presentation went to Ruth Keary (Cork Institute of Technology) with both Orla Power (University of Limerick) and Outi Mäkinen (UCC) as runners-up.

 



Dr André Brodkorb (Teagasc) presenting this year’s Teagasc Prize for the Best Oral Presentation to Ruth Keary, CIT for her work entitled “Use of a bacteriophage-derived enzyme for staphylococcal biofilm control”. Ruth works under the supervision of Dr Aidan Coffey from the Department of Biological Sciences.
