Introduction to Analogue Photography

(Suitable for beginners and intermediate) with Roseanne Lynch

20th – 22nd July / 10am – 4pm
Cost
€190
Max: 12 participants

This introductory course is designed for those who have never used, or wish to reconnect with, their analogue camera, and this beautifully slowed down process of image making. Initially, discussions will centre on how to make informed choices in exposure, composition, and use of the camera. A mini field trip will then take place around the college and locality to shoot under instruction, to ensure you get the most from your camera.

We will process the films together and make contact prints, so that the potential held in these small positives can be assessed, selected and then we will make enlargements.

There are some cameras available to use, on a first come first served basis, but it is hoped students will have their own cameras. Paper for printing will be available to purchase at cost. 1 film, chemicals, and other materials are included in the course cost.

No experience is required, but those with some knowledge of the darkroom will also be catered for.
