Cork Colleges Progression Scheme
In addition to the general FETAC entry arrangements, CIT has a scheme for the admission of students who successfully complete courses in Further Education Colleges in Cork called the Cork Colleges Progression Scheme. Under the CCPS a number of courses in CIT are linked to certain courses in the FE colleges. CIT reserves a number of places on its linked courses for applicants achieving specified levels and other requirements in their awards. Ask at your Cork Further Education College for more details.
The Colleges participating in the Cork Colleges Progession Scheme are:

Further education (FE) Maths Programme
A programme will be delivered for FE students who wish to meet the maths minimum requirement for entry into programmes of study in the Business and Humanities field in Cork Institute of Technology September 2018.
This programme is suitable for FE students who are applying for programmes of study in the Business and Humanities field in Cork Institute of Technology in September 2018, and who are
- Mature students who do not have a Leaving Certificate or specific FETAC maths modules OR
- School leavers who failed ordinary/higher level Leaving Certificate maths OR
- School leavers who took foundation level maths in their leaving certificate exam.
Currently in CIT if a prospective student does not meet the maths entry requirement, any points accumulated through the FETAC award cannot be used for entry into year 1.
This maths initiative is for prospective FE students who wish to apply using their FETAC points, but do not hold a relevant qualification in maths. The programme is free of charge. Places are limited- there will be 30 places available and these will be allocated to the first 30 applicants.
- Students who have an award which includes particular FETAC Maths modules (eg C20139 or 5N1833 or C20174 or C20175) do not need to take this exam.
- Students who have passed Ordinary/Higher level Maths in the Leaving Certificate Examination, do not need to take this exam.
