EU Postgraduate Research Fees 

*Please note that students are required to pay the full fee outlined below should they finish earlier than expected. The fee relates to the qualification achieved, NOT the duration, and must be paid in full prior to graduation.

Masters by Research €11,000*

• €5,500 per annum Full-time over 2 Years plus €7 USI Levy;
  Full-time students who require additional time to complete their studies will be charged €757 for 1 additional year and €120 per annum thereafter.
• €2,750 per annum Part-time over 4 Years;
  Part-time students who require additional time to complete their studies will be charged €375 for 2 additional years, and €120 per annum thereafter.

Doctor of Philosophy PhD €16,500*

• €5,500 per annum Full-time over 3 Years plus €7 USI Levy;
  Full-time students who require additional time to complete their studies will be charged €757 for 1 additional year and €120 per annum thereafter.
• €2,750 per annum Part-time over 6 Years;
  Part-time students who require additional time to complete their studies will be charged €375 for 2 additional years, and €120 per annum thereafter.

Full-Time EU Postgraduate Research Scholarship

Full-time Postgraduate Research Students who are self-funded* are eligible to apply for a Scholarship through the MTU Registrar’s office.

The value of the Scholarship is €1,000 per annum for the first 2 years (Masters)/3 years (PhD) only. The Scholarship applies to full-time EU students only.

*Self-Funded students are defined as students that are

1. not availing of a full or partial fee scholarship from any source
   
   or
2. not availing of a full or partial fee sponsorship from any source

The value of the Scholarship is for the full academic year or €500 per Semester, therefore, students will be liable for the balance of €2,257 each Semester.

Completed application forms should be submitted to the MTU Fees office, Bishopstown Campus, Cork following registration. The fees office is located on the ground floor of the administration building.
