Financial Supports for CIT Students
STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND
As part of an initiative to tackle educational disadvantage, an ESF aided Student Assistance Fund has been made available to CIT by the Department of Education and Science.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be students registered with CIT participating on a third level course of not less than one-year duration leading to an under-graduate or post-graduate qualification. Resources will be targeted at disadvantaged students most in need. Applicants on the Back to Education Allowance for unemployed people, lone parents and people with disabilities will also be considered.
- Only students who are registered (fees paid) with the Institute can apply for assistance from the Student Assistance Fund.
- Applications that are incomplete will be returned to students. Documentation to support the claim must be included with the application.
- Applicants will be called to attend a meeting with the Access Officer and a representative from the Student Assistance Fund Committee to discuss the details of their application.
- A committee will consider applications on the basis of application form and evidence provided. Applicants will be notified in writing of the outcome. All applications will be treated confidentially.
- Receipts will be required before each payment if students are successful in their application. NO RECEIPTS – NO PAYMENT
- If approved for childcare assistance, only receipts from registered child minders are accepted.
