Course Duration:
The course runs over 3 semesters on a full time basis and is also offered on a part time basis. It is expected that candidates should normally complete the programme over 3 years on a part-time basis.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants must have achieved a minimum of Second Class Honours in a Level 8 Honours Bachelor Programme in Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Engineering or equivalent.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Equivalent recognition may be given through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process on an individual case-by-case basis to candidates who have not achieved this academic standard but who can demonstrate significant relevant professional experience in the discipline of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Engineering. Overview
This programme aims to develop advanced analytical, design and research skills in Chemical Engineering with an industrial focus. Postgraduate students will undertake the final research element of this Masters programme in a host company or with their current employer. This will provide the researcher with an insight into the commercial aspects of engineering research and innovation and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the latest products and techniques. Graduates of the programme will be well equipped to respond to the needs of the high technology industries particularly those with a focus on Research & Development, and product or process innovation.
Structure
This is a 90 credit Level 9 taught programme comprising eight mandatory modules, two free choice 5 credit modules, and two project modules totalling 40 credits.
