Competitions are run throughout the year to encourage students to come up with business ideas and take their ideas to the next stage. Feedback and business advice is given to applicants at different stages of the competition. Cash prizes are awarded to the winners of various competitions.
- Prize for Innovation: Is an annual competition that awards cash prizes to those whose inventions and business ideas are judged most creatively, novel, innovative and is likely to succeed in the market place. This competition is open to all departments in the institute. Click for more information.
- The APPrentice: is run by the School of Business in association with CIT's Innovation Week. Run to inspire students to come up with new and interesting APP ideas. Applicants come from all disciplines within CIT. This competition is also open to FETAC students from Cork Collages Progression programme Scheme: St. Johns Collage, Cork Collage of Commerce, City north Collage, Kinsale College of Further Educaton, Colaiste Stiofain Naofa. - CIT Dragons Den competition: involves pitching your business ideas to a panel of experts, without the aid of a PowerPoint and within a 5 minute time frame. Click for more information.
- Business Model Canvas competition: is only open to CIT 1st year students. In this competition students create a business model based on their idea using the business model canvas template. The students then pitch to a panel of judges in the Rubicon Centre and the winning team's canvas is then selected for the top prize. Click for more
