Halpin
The Halpin Centre for Research and Innovation at the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) is the maritime research centre for CIT. NMCI, a constituent college of CIT is a partnership between CIT and the Irish Naval Service. Through that partnership the Halpin Centre is the research and innovation arm of the Irish Naval Service.
The Halpin Centre’s primary mission is to support maritime mechatronics, human factors and maritime operations research & innovation activity in Ireland and overseas. The Centre is a key partner in Ireland’s national effort to build a strong and sustainable indigenous maritime technology business sector.
The Centre develops new maritime technology products and services by working with innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, small & medium enterprises and Irish based foreign direct investment companies, and works closely with public sector bodies to support them in delivering enhanced maritime services and public good initiatives.
