The V-LINC team and CIT were among a number of Higher Education Institutes (HEI) presented with an International Credit Mobility Award by Minister Damien English TD, Minister for Skills, Research and Innovation. The reception took place on Thursday the 14th of January, in Iveagh House, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, St Stephen’s Green, Dublin. The Erasmus+ programme provides funding for HEIs to send and receive students and staff to regions outside of the EU/EEA. CIT was one of 12 HEI’s to receive funding totalling over €1m.
In November 2015, CIT's Dr John Hobbs and Eoin Byrne were hosted by the University of Illinois and Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce to assess Chicago’s ICT Cluster (For more information click here). In 2016 a student from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign will be hosted by CIT.
Mr Eoin Byrne said “The ERASMUS+ funding was a great opportunity to build links with the University of Illinois and Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. Building more and stronger international relationships is an important goal of the V-LINC team and CIT, and we hope to engage in further projects through the International Credit Mobility fund in the future. It’s a fantastic opportunity for HEIs, staff and students in Ireland.”
