Please note: CIT courses are divided into two Semesters. 
Semester 1 starts in mid-September, finishing at the end of the semester 1 examination period. 
Semester 2 starts around the first week of February. 
There is an inter-semester break between semesters 1 & 2.  The precise dates will be posted here as soon as the calendar has been finalised.

Application Procedure and Accommodation Requests

Applications to Study at CIT from September 2012:  Deadline for receipt of applications
is Friday, 27th April 2012.

Applications to Study at CIT from January 2013: Deadline for receipt of applications
is Friday 26th October 2012.

Information Booklet for Incoming Students – this document contains general information for exchange students on studying at CIT and living in Cork.

Application formApplication forms must be typewritten.  Handwritten forms will be NOT be accepted.  Please note that when you have completed the form, you must print it out, attach two passport sized photos to it, and get it signed by your Head of Department/ International Officer as proof or your selection.  The form must be stamped with the official stamp of your university, and posted from your institution’s International Office to:

The following items should be enclosed with the application form:

  • A completed ECTS Learning Agreement, signed by your course supervisor in your home institution. 
    Details of all courses are available on the following website links: courses and http://modules.cit.ie
  • A current curriculum vitae/resume
  • A list of subjects studied during the previous year of study/transcripts where available.
  • A copy of your European Health Insurance Card.
  • A scanned copy of your passport photo page.
Accommodation Information and Reservation Form

Accommodation Information – Details of the accommodation available in Cork and the web addresses of a number of apartment complexes adjacent to CIT.

Accommodation Request Form: Your completed application form should be emailed to the following email address: carmel.collins@cit.ie

no later than 

  • Friday 20th July 2012 (for Semester 1 bookings)
  • Friday 9th November 2012 (for Semester 2 bookings)

Please note that you should not apply for accommodation until the International Office at CIT has confirmed your acceptance.

As soon as we receive your application to study at CIT, and it has been approved by the CIT academic department concerned, the CIT International Office will send a confirmation of acceptance to your International Office. Any further information, such as orientation arrangements, will be emailed to you directly, as required.
