Project Spraoi is a primary school health promotion intervention. It aims to increase physical activity, improve dietary intake and positively influence children’s overall health. The project is delivered in the primary schools by a team of Energisers. Energisers support schools in the promotion of physical activity and healthy eating among the children. This is done a variety of ways such as leading initiatives, modelling classes and providing resources and training to the schools.
Project Spraoi is co-ordinated by a team of researchers from Cork Institute of Technology. The project works in partnership with the very successful New Zealand Project Energize which has been in existence since 2004.
