A group of international students from the entrepreneurial school in the Management Centre of Innsbruck (Austria), visited Cork Institute of Technology’s Bishopstown Campus on Thursday, January 26th, as part of a weeklong trip between Dublin and Cork in which they visited some of the more prominent business and institutions in the country.

In their visit to CIT, Dr. Breda Kenny, head of the Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence, gave them a presentation about the evolution of the entrepreneurial world in Ireland, as well as current opportunities and expectations for the future. Breda also informed them about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in CIT and the strategies and projects currently being developed by CIT, especially by the Hincks Centre.

After a coffee break, the students were treated to an insightful tour of the Rubicon Centre, Ireland's premier business incubation premises. George Bulman, the Rubicon’s Operations Manager, explained to them the day-to-day life of the building and introduced some of the busy start-ups that are currently in the Rubicon, such as Aventa Med, a medical device company, Dog Day Media, a video and animation Production Company, Think Visual, an innovative visual arts project and Gymix, a provider of music for Gyms.

The group experienced a glimpse of the unique collaborative entrepreneurial environment in CIT with fresh-thinking entrepreneurial businesses, innovative students, busy research centres, campus departments and experienced academics willing to share and learn from each other to progress any potential start-ups on campus.
