Fourteen Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) students were awarded with design awards from the Institute of Designers of Ireland (IDI), at their Annual  Prize Giving held in the NCAD Gallery in Dublin. From a total of more than 300 entries, across a wide range of design disciplines, this is a tremendous achievement for CIT. There are six core categories in the awards, two of which were awarded to CIT.

Topping off the 10 commendations and 2 high commendations, Grace Murray (Visual Communications Graduate) and Kristina Malantsuk (Interior Architecture Graduate) came away with category wins in Illustration and the prestigious Ove Arup Award for Architecture. The fourteen graduates from the Department of Architecture and Visual Communications made 2016 CIT's most successful year at the awards and ranks the college second only to the NCAD in achievement.
