Story? 2020 International Student Documentary Film Festival’ will take place online at 7pm on Thursday April 23rd and Friday April 24th via CIT’s Facebook page.
Covid-19 has meant that the festival could not take place as planned with various screenings around Cork city but this won’t stop the Story? team showcasing the talent of international filmmakers and the phenomenal standard of films submitted this year.
Rather than postpone this year’s event, the festival committee made the decision to move everything online - which will hopeful drag us away from Netflix for a few hours.
17 finalist films will be streamed across the two days and the winners will be announced on April 24th .
Some of the awards include best Irish documentary, best animated documentary and best documentary of the festival. The finalist films cover themes such as sustainability, technology and religion and have been submitted from Australia, Jordan, India, The Netherlands, Iran, Ireland and more.
The film festival is an opportunity for everyone to experience something different while the country is in quarantine.
The Story? 2020 International Student Documentary Festival is the only international student documentary film festival of its kind in Ireland and it is run in association with CIT, CIT Arts Office, CIT Faculty of Business and Humanities, CIT Crawford College of Art and Design, Bank of Ireland, and Cork’s 96FM.
