CIT New York Alumni Event A Success

The first CIT Alumni Gathering took place on Friday 9th October 2015 in the Fitzpatrick’s Hotel in New York City.

Gerard O’Donovan, Head of Faculty of Business and Humanities hosted the event and said “as well as a great social event, I was humbled by graduates' positive contributions and their willingness to give back and contribute to CIT. Also when you look at the calibre of companies our graduates are working for in  New York: GE Capital, Pernod Ricard, Wall Street Journal, Morgan Stanley to name a few, it shows that our graduates have the appropriate skillset from their CIT qualification, are work ready and are successful.”

Many graduates were given a presentation of current developments and future plans of the Institute and it was timely as the Institute was just named Institute of Technology of the Year for 2016 by the Sunday Times.  Feedback was gathered to help us to improve how we connect and stay connected with our alumni abroad. Discussions also developed regarding current programme content and making international opportunities available for students to give them an international perspective.

One of the outputs of the meeting was the formal establishment of a CIT New York Alumni Chapter where members will organise social and professional events and connected with CIT.

We look forward to future CIT graduates making impact in the USA in the future.
