Assistive Technology sessions for students with disabilities and parents

CIT is running sessions on Assistive Technology for second-level school students and their parents in the week of 13th June 2011, Monday – Friday, 10.00am - 1.30pm in the new Assistive Technology Service in the Nexus Student Centre, CIT Bishopstown campus. The sessions are being run as part of Pathways to Education which is a joint access initiative of CIT and UCC.

Sessions for students will include getting hands-on experience of how they could use Assistive Technology such as software like Read Write Gold, and equipment, listening to current college students talk about they use assistive technology in their lives and study, and a tour of the CIT campus.

Parents are welcome to attend a talk from staff and students on the supports available to students with disabilities from 10.00-11.00 or attend the full morning session which includes this talk, a demonstration of the Assistive Technology available and a tour of the CIT campus.

Lunch and refreshments are included.

Booking is essential as places are limited.
