CIT zero2020 testbed is a project involving extensive refurbishment, and upgrade, of an original Cork RTC 1974 office and teaching space on the Bishopstown Campus.
The mission of the zero2020 testbed mission is to provide a live, controlled environment to explore energy and resource performance through the use of pioneering technological solutions with emphasis on demonstrating zero energy public sector building in use. The main aim was to demonstrate the feasibility of retrofitting part of CIT’s original building into a near zero energy building as a pilot demonstrator project. The zero2020 testbed is located at the end of B-Block on the Bishopstown Campus.
