GUITAR PLUS GUITAR ORCHESTRA: A CLASSICAL GUITAR CHRISTMAS IN THE NATIONAL MARITIME COLLEGE OF IRELANDDirections to the National Maritime College of Ireland Thursday 11th December, 2014 @ 12.15pm Guitar Plus, a 12 member guitar orchestra drawn from senior students of the CIT Cork School of Music conducted by Jerry Creedon,will pay their annual visit to the National Maritime College of Ireland, Ringaskiddy on Thursday, 11th December . The National Maritime College of Ireland are hosting the lunchtime concert in this wonderful building with Guitar Plus. The programme is a real feast of great music including a medley of Christmas tunes arranged in a jazz style and pieces by Sanz and Kindle. Special guests are guitarist David Keating and CIT Cork School of Music OPERA PLATFORM directed by Mary MacSweeney, performing scenes from Mozart’s opera Cossi Fan Tutte whose theme could be summed up as “Will the Girlfriends be faithful while the Sailors are at Sea?” They will then be joined by Guitar Plus for a special performance of ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Silent Night’. |
Admission is €2 in aid of Marymount and begins at 12.15pm. |
