After very successful events in Midleton and Bandon, CIT's Engineering, Science & Technology Roadshow continues to travel around County Cork. This Roadshow series, which builds on the remarkable success of last year’s CIT Engineering Roadshow, provides students with even more information about the wide range of possibilities available to them. The Roadshow series continues at the Castle Hotel, Macroom @ 7pm on Monday, 24th November, 2014.

Selecting the engineering, science, technology or computing courses that best fits their abilities can be a daunting exercise for students. In order to demystify the relevant areas and to provide guidance to students interested in studying at degree level, CIT has created a new initiative to help ensure that they, their supporters, teachers and guidance counsellors, can explore their options in a friendly environment where they can engage with current students, past graduates, and CIT lecturers.

“Many students have the talent and aptitude to study engineering, science, technology and computing”, says Michael Loftus, Head of Faculty of Engineering & Science at CIT. A Chartered Engineer and Member of the Irish Computer Society who worked in industry for over 15 years, Michael firmly believes that careers in all of these areas provide exciting opportunities both female and male students. “While male students continue to be attracted to pursue careers in these areas, more female students are being attracted into both new and traditional courses” he continued.

CIT has been remarkably successful in producing National and European award winners in Engineering, Science and Technology. In addition, it wins multimillion-euro research funding on an annual basis. The CIT Engineering, Science & Technology Roadshow has been designed to provide participants with access to CIT’s accumulated experience in guiding students and in shaping them for successful careers.

Roadshow Schedule

Monday, 24th November 2014 @ 7pm Castle Hotel Macroom
Monday, 12th January 2015 Cork Institute of Technology Nexus, Bishopstown Campus
