CIT conducted the Graduate Outcomes Survey of the 2017 graduates in spring 2018.
The results show many positive outcomes for CIT and its graduates with 96% of CIT graduates either in paid employment or in further study (51% paid employment and 45% in further study).
Focusing on the level 8 (Honours Degree) graduates shows a breakdown of 81% in paid employment and 12% pursuing further study.
The respondents seeking employment reduced from 4.9% to 2.6% (2016 v’s 2017) and the percentage reporting as self-employed increased from 6% to 6.6%.
There are 94% of employed graduates working in Ireland and 78% of those work in Cork.
Over 16% of CIT students indicated that they secured a job through a placement or internship while a further 15% indicated that a job was sourced through the CIT Careers Service or another institution source.
The average starting salary for graduates, between €25,000 and €35,000, is in line with the national average.
