Survey Shows Positive Picture for 2017 CIT Graduates

CIT conducted the Graduate Outcomes Survey of the 2017 graduates in spring 2018.

The results show many positive outcomes for CIT and its graduates with 96% of CIT graduates either in paid employment or in further study (51% paid employment and 45% in further study).

Focusing on the level 8 (Honours Degree) graduates shows a breakdown of 81% in paid employment and 12% pursuing further study.

The respondents seeking employment reduced from 4.9% to 2.6% (2016 v’s 2017) and the percentage reporting as self-employed increased from 6% to 6.6%.

There are 94% of employed graduates working in Ireland and 78% of those work in Cork.

Over 16% of CIT students indicated that they secured a job through a placement or internship while a further 15% indicated that a job was sourced through the CIT Careers Service or another institution source.

The average starting salary for graduates, between €25,000 and €35,000, is in line with the national average.
